Big Toy/ Little Girl

Last night Troy put together Claire's new jumper/entertainment center.

Jack tired to "help" by carrying around some of the pieces.

I think Claire may need to grow a little before she can really enjoy this  :)

Thanks Great Grandma Rice and Great Aunt Patsy for the new toy!!!

I'm a big girl now :)

Claire had her 4 month checkup today and it went wonderfully.  The doctor is pleased with her progress and said she is performing at an almost 3 month level.  This is so amazing because Claire's adjusted age is only 7 weeks.  She definitely has the "talking", laughing and looking cute down, the doctor said the next thing for her to learn is that she has control of her hands.

Claire Elizabeth-Anne 7lbs 11oz, 19.5 inches long

Thanks Nana and Pop Bowlby for my outfit and hair bow.  I Love them!

Claire LOVES her cousin

Claire has a question????

Claire gets so few comments that she is wondering if anyone really reads her blog?

Wow that's cool!

Claire is becoming more and more interested in her surroundings.  Instead of just being a cute little lump, she is awake alot more and wants to be entertained.  It's easy though because everything is so exciting and new to her.  We love watching her reactions!
She loves tummy time,
and is becoming mommy's little helper in the kitchen!

Too big

Socks are still too big for Claire.  When her little feet get chilly we've found if we pull them up like knee socks they will at least stay on for a little bit.  Fashionable no, warm, yes :)

Relieved

Claire has been seeing an eye doctor since she was a month old to be screened for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP).  Basically with a term baby the blood vessels behind the eye have already finished growing, well with our little munchkin there was a lot of growing still to be done.  When the blood vessels grow they can form scar tissue causing the retina to detach and cause blindness.  These visits are not fun as Claire's eyes get dialated, we have to hold her down, the doctor clamps her eyes open and shines a bright light in them. Well today the doctor said everything looks great and there is no more chance for ROP and blindness, yeah!!!
As you can see Claire was all smiles when she got the news!

What a difference a few months makes!

This was Claire Elizabeth-Anne back in April.

This is Claire Elizabeth-Anne in the same outfit in June.  Now the pj's only come to her knees and barely snap!

As of today our little munchkin is up to 7lbs 6oz. . . whoohoo!

Bunnies and Birds

Our backyard has become a regular nature preserve.
Above is a bird we've named Jill.  For the past 3 weeks she has spent her days staring into our back door.  We've tried everything to encorage her to move on, but alas, she is determined this is her home. Her boyfriend Jack, visits regularly, but we haven't been able to capture his picture yet.
This is Peter Cottontail.  Instead of hopping down the bunntrail, he hops and lounges in our back yard, and yes he brings his friends over to play.
Below is Flopsey and Mopsey, the baby bunnies.  I can't believe how comfortable they are are on our patio.

Happy Birthday Nana Bowlby

Love the Troy Bowlby family :)

Gabriella

The world lost a very special and loved little girl today.  Gabriella Leah April 26 -June15, 2011.  I am glad that Claire and I got the chance to visit and meet her last week.  She was very sweet and alert for the pictures with her cousin.
She will be very greatly missed.
