Happy Halloween

We were Dorothy and Toto.  Claire liked trick or treating until she got cold and hungry.  That's when the tears came, then the screams and then the looks from people like I was pinching the baby.  After a little milk, Claire loved playing with her candy.  Earlier in the day we went to our city's downtown and walked around getting candy from the merchants.  Claire was very upset because everyone kept calling her a boy :(  I noticed all the merchants would have chocolate in their hands to give out, but once it was Claire's turn, they would put it back in their bowl and give her a lollipop.  Apparently they thought Claire would eat lollipops.  The best comment was from a lady that gave her skittles, "Here's some skittles, she can gum these."  Ha Ha, I think skittles would be a choking hazard.

BIG weekend

Whew, Claire and I spent the day recuperating from her big Baptism weekend.  She got to meet lots of new relatives, wear a pretty dress and get presents, what could be more fun for a little girl!  I haven't had time to load all the new pictures, so here are a few from before all the festivities.  These are Claire's last pictures in 0-3 month pajamas.  She is such a big girl now that she wears 6 months pjs.  They are still big though, so she ends up kicking her feet out of the sides, even though they have footies.

Claire has her hands ALL over everything!

Which pumpkin would you pick?

The weather in Charlotte may not reflect it (80 degrees), but it's almost Halloween.  We took a trip to the pumpkin patch today and Claire got her picture taken by my talented friend Amber.  I love love love these pictures and think they really capture Claire's personality and how inquisitive she is right now.Claire had a great time sitting in the grass for the first time and taking in all the new sights and sounds.  She also loved looking at Amber's adorable little girl Stella.  Stella did a great job of shaking Claire's toy to try and get her to smile.

Side note:  Don't let the cute shots fool you.  The back of Claire was covered in poop in these pictures.  We've had more blow out diapers than I can count the past 2 days.  As soon as I get one load of laundry done, Claire makes another.

Claire is very excited that her mommy won a hands free pumping bra from Simple Wishes.

As with EVERYTHING, she likes to take a taste.

Do you like her Halloween shirt?  Thanks Aunt Meredith!

Happy Girl

I finally got my baby back!  Each day last week got worse, poor Baby Claire was miserable.  We went to the doctor Sunday and the doctor thought she was fighting off a virus.   I was skeptical about the diagnosis (Claire never had a fever or any real symptoms), but there hasn't been any crying this week, so I guess the doctor was right.  Claire has been smiling and happy again.  Oh and her weight Sunday was 11 lbs 6.5 oz.

She's on the move!

Claire rolled from back to front today.  She's been sooo close for the past couple weeks, but just couldn't get over her arm.  Well this afternoon she flipped over and put the BIGGEST smile on her face.  I gave her a big hug, put her back on the floor and she rolled over 3 more times, smiling the whole time.
Look what I did!!!!

 Ready to roll again!

I don't think I ever posted about the first time she rolled from front to back.  It was back in August.  I was telling Claire's case worker, Jennifer,  (Claire is enrolled in a state program that helps track her development to make sure she stays on track with her milestones)  I was worried because Claire wasn't rolling yet.  To show Jennifer how Claire wouldn't flip, I put her down on her tummy.  Claire looked at me, rolled over and then looked at me as if  to say, "mommy I'm not behind, I can do it!"

I need a raise!

It's been a long couple of days at the Bowlby house.  We think Baby Claire is teething.  She is VERY cranky, chewing on everything and is using her teething pacifier.  When Troy's mom visited at the end of May we accidentally had her buy Claire a teething pacifier.  It's very hard and Claire never wanted anything to do with it.  We offered it to Claire on Sunday and it hasn't come out of her mouth since.  The only thing that Claire likes is listening to music and having us rock her like a baby.  She will only play with her toys for about 5 minutes before the screaming starts, and let me tell you, Claire has a loud set of lungs on her.  I feel so bad for her.    I want my sweet happy baby back!!!!  On a side note, thanks Nana Bowlby for the Notre Dame onesies, Claire loves showing her team spirit and looking girly while doing it.

Time for a haircut!

Slowly but surely Claire's hair is growing.  It's hard to show in pictures, but she is starting to get a cute dirty blonde mohawk on the top of her head.  After her shower today I spiked the hair up and there was enough for a clip!  Claire's friend Ryleigh's mom made her this cute little clip.

Feel free to laugh, Claire's daddy did. . . I am so ready to be able to style my little munchkin's hair!
