3 Pacis!!!!!

Sunday night the unthinkable happened. . . Claire's favorite caterpillar wubbanub paci broke, leaving her with only one dinosaur paci.  This was not acceptable since Claire likes to sleep having one paci in her mouth and one in her hand.  Luckily for Claire she has a nice mommy who jumped on Amazon.com and ordered her 2 new ones.  It was like Christmas morning when I opened the box and gave Claire the new puppy and caterpillar pacis.  I have never seen a bigger smile on her face, she kept clapping and cheering and running around the room holding all 3.
She tried to stick all 3 in her mouth!
It was hard to get a picture in focus because she kept running around.

I hated to spend money on new pacifiers at her age, but her pure joy made it all worth it.  I will say that for the most part Claire doesn't have pacifiers during the day or at play dates.  She only gets them for bedtime and in the car or stroller.  I calculated we've spent about $50 on Wubbanubs in Claire's life.  This seems ridiculous. . . but when I think about all the peace and quiet they've given us, it seems like a small price to pay!

Fight Fight

Kayla and Claire hadn't seen in each other in almost 3 weeks because of Claire's sicknesses.  The girls were excited and had to reinspect each other at our play date yesterday.

Look Kayla attacked Claire so her mom had to hold her back and poor Brooks is  watching in horror.  No, no Claire was crying because I took her toy away and Jen is holding Kayla to get her to sit still for the picture, but we think it totally looks like we had to separate the girls because they were fighting.
YAY, so fun times with friends!

1 minute

This is what happens in 1 minute when a mommy tries to go potty.

Yes that was a brand new box of 500 Q-tips that Claire dumped out.  She was very proud of herself.  Her daddy will be installing cabinet locks tonight!

Claire and Jonah

Before ditching Claire for mommies night out, she had a fun play date with her younger friend Jonah.

They had fun playing and sharing Mum Mums.

Jonah REALLY wanted Claire's hair bow, ha ha

Bye Bye Babies, Hello Mommy Fun

Saturday night a group of us decided to go out to dinner without the babies.
I love this one. . . Claire and I have the same dazed look on our faces.
Since I wasn't taking Claire to dinner, I wore my diamond necklace.  As you can see Claire was enamored with it and  couldn't take her eyes off of it.
We had a great time out and all the babies were good for their daddies.  It was nice to have a meal and not spend the entire time cutting food into little pieces :)

Fun with my favorite friend

No she wasn't in the mood to pose with her mommy.

Happy Memorial Day!

We celebrated a little early (yesterday) since Claire's daddy had to work today.  The Starnes Family was nice enough to invite us over for a picnic.

We were in charge of dessert, so I made mini chocolate cupcakes, with vanilla frosting and patriotic red, white and blue M&M's.  They were delicious and pretty.  Claire was not thrilled that she couldn't eat any before the party.

Claire never wants to look at the camera for a picture with me. . . but has no problem posing with her daddy.

Claire walked right up to Finley's piano and started playing and dancing.  She thought it was so cool!  Do you like Claire's patriotic onesie. . . it is size 0-3 month and was her 4th of July shirt for last year (it was too big then).  Can you believe our 15 month old is wearing a 0- month shirt, ha ha

Claire loves to point out where the nose and eyes are on babies.
Claire loved playing with her friend Finely!

The dinner was delicious. . . but Claire had waited all day to dig into the cupcakes.

 Look at Claire's belly.

She had to lick her fingers to make sure she got EVERY last drop of icing.

So much fun. . . it was time to go home and put Claire down for a nap.

A ball popping good time!

Claire is getting really good at putting the balls in the slot and pressing the button to make them slide through the chamber.  What a difference a few months has made in playing with this toy.  Thanks again Nana and Pop Bowlby. Of course Claire's favorite thing to do with the balls. . . eat them!

WOW

swaying back and forth.
squatting up and down

 Clapping with joy

These pictures don't really do it justice, but Claire loves watching "Baby Einstein."  Claire has never shown any interest in tv until we hooked up our old vcr and put in this tape (yes it is on a vhs tape).  Notice our unsafe setup with all the wires across the floor.  Don't worry now that we know she likes it Troy is going to hide the wires and set it up better.  Every time we put the tape on she squeal with excitement and dances around the room.  She won't sit in her chair, she wants to be right up on the tv.  I guess I need to see if I can find her some more "Baby Einstein video."

Playtime

After Claire's daily nap we've started playing in her room and having dance parties.

 She's got some coooool moves.

She kept trying to figure out where the music was coming from.

Dancing makes little girls sleepy. . .

 and ready for story time.

The last picture is her reading her new favorite book, "Little Quack."  I think she likes it because she can say "duck, duck" with every page turn.
