My baby is turning 1

I can't believe that this time a year ago I couldn't sleep because I was scared of my c-section scheduled for the morning. I was ecstatic that I kept her in until her due date and that she wouldn't be a preemie like her sister.  I wondered what my baby would look like, would she be okay, would I be okay?  Somehow a year has passed and she is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Charlotte is a fun, milk loving baby who struggles with sleep, loves her big sister, adores baby dolls, swings and climbing her slide.  She enjoys chewing books and eating yogurt and Cheerios.  Happy birthday to my 2nd precious miracle, Charlotte Brooke Bowlby.

Growing up

Claire may not weigh much more than she did a year ago, but she sure is looking more grown up.
This was my beautiful big girl getting ready to go to her Easter Party at school last week. When I ask her to show me her sweet face, this is the pose I get.  I love it!   She was so excited.  They had chips, mini cupcakes and Capri Sun and made a bunny out of a paper plate.

Charlotte's First 1st Birthday Present

I can't believe my baby girl is going to be 1 in less than a week.  Since one of her friends can't come to her party he brought her present to lunch today.  Charlotte was so excited to actually get to open a present since her sister usually does it for her.
Why yes, that is Claire's hand in the picture trying to "help" Charlotte.

Claire trying to squeeze the plastic cupcake.
Oh and wondering about Charlotte's spiky hair. . . It's a nice combination of her being in a hot car seat, smearing food into it and pulling out her pigtails.

Library and Park day

Claire and Kayla have been going to story time at the library since they were less than a year old.

This was them sharing a toy at story time back in February 2012.

Well they both still like story time, but look a little different.

We also visited the park after the library and Charlotte got to try out a swing for the first time.  She loved it and shortly after this picture was taken fell asleep and took about a 20 minute nap in the swing.

The big girls had fun too.

Teeth

Charlotte has always liked to put things in her mouth.  If she can get her hands on it, it goes in her mouth.  It turns out her current biting obsession was due to teething.  Yesterday morning at her 6 month checkup I looked in her mouth and found 2 little bottom teeth.

Growing up

I really need to get this blog going again.  I was reading through the posts from when Claire was a baby and there were so many things I had forgotten about.  The girls have been busy growing up and changing everyday.  Charlotte is now 6 months old and crawling everywhere and as of Monday she can pull herself to a standing position on the couch and in her crib.  Claire is busy really developing her personality.  She talks nonstop although you can't always understand what she is saying (she started speech therapy in October). She currently tells me that everything is, "amazing." Claire is really starting to play with friends her age, which I love to watch.

This is Claire and her friend, Eli.  She is obsessed with him.  She talks bout him all the time.  If I tell her we are going to a party she wants to know if Eli will be there.

4 month stats

My sweet girl had her 4 month appointment today.  It was rough because a certain 2.5 year old wanted to talk the ENTIRE time so her mommy couldn't hear the doctor.
Charlotte weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 11.5 oz (90%) and was 25 inches long (75%).  Her head size is still in the 5th percentile.
Charlotte  can roll over both ways and sit up.  She LOVES to play with toys.  If she sees something she reaches and tries to grab it.  She's a big piggie and eats all the time including every one to two hours overnight.  She loves her big sister who can make her laugh.  Everything goes in her mouth.   She is wearing a size 3 diaper, 3-6 month clothes sometimes fit, but 6-9 fit better. She's a very fun girl!
