Happy birthday to a little angel

 My sweet niece, Gabriella would have turned 1 today.  She may have only been on earth for 7 weeks, but she touched many lives and will never be forgotten.  I am so happy that Claire and I had the chance to meet her.  We were all looking forward to the 2 babies growing up together.   I love that Gabriella at 6 weeks had more hair than Claire does at 14 months.  She was a very sweet baby.

How cool is our new logo for Claire's March of Dimes team!  A big thanks to one of our team members Brandy for designing it.  We are going to iron this on shirts for the big walk Saturday.  It's not to late to donate if you haven't.  Thanks to the Alabama Bowlby's for making a donation :) 

My baby has lived with me a whole year!

This picture is from a year ago today, the first time Claire and Jack met.  A year ago, April 20, 2011 after 61 long days, we were finally able to take our baby outside of the confines of the hospital.  We were so excited and very scared.  Troy wouldn't even feed Claire her bottle the first day for fear that she'd stop breathing (which she did twice once we were home).  That first night was very long as we had to set the alarm to feed Claire every 3 hours all night ( we were supposed to keep her on the same schedule as the nicu). I remember we watched a "My wife and kids" marathon on Nick At Night all week since we weren't getting any sleep.  Now she can go all night without eating, walks everywhere and really understands what we say. 

It has been a long wonderful year and we look forward to many more!

A sick little munchie

Tuesday morning we were all excited to go to story time and see Claire's friends Kayla and Eli.  As I was changing Claire I noticed the poor thing was covered with a red rash.  

 Don't worry, the doctor diagnosed her with a virus and by the time the rash had broken out Claire was already on the mend.  I guess when she was taking such great naps last weekend I should have known something was wrong.  

 She's still been a little sleepier than usual.  This is Claire passed out on her daddy before she even finished her bottle.

Happy 14 month birthday baby Claire, you are exceeding ours and the doctors expectations with your growth and development!

CLaire's new blankie

We spent last week at Grandma and Granddad Rice's house. Grandma Rice made Claire a little blanket to hold onto while she sleeps.

As you can see Claire loves it. 

Troy put it on her head when she woke up from her nap. . . she didn't seem to notice.  She's wearing hi.
