Where to sleep. . .

 Claire still refuses to sleep in her crib. The only place we can get her to sleep that's not on us, is on the couch.  Claire is not very predictable with her naps, except her 6pm nap.  Everyday between 5:30 and 6pm I wrap her up in her quilt from Aunt Katie, rock her and she she will sleep all alone on the couch for 30 minutes.  After 30 minutes, without fail, she wakes up and I have to hold her for 5 minutes and then she will take the rest of her nap on the couch. 

It amazes me how little sleep out little munchkin seems to get each day.  I keep trying to get her to sleep longer, but she pops up like a poptart ready to play again.  She really is non stop!

Stuck

Claire is getting more and more daring with her exploration. .  . sometimes though she gets stuck and very scared. 

The pantry

 Curious Claire has figured out that if we forget to close the pantry door there are lots of fun things to play with in there.

 So this is where you keep the yummy Cheerios!

Library Wednesday

All of Claire's loyal blog readers know about Fajita Friday, well we also have Library Wednesday.  We meet Claire's friend Kayla for storytime and Chick fil a.  Both girls love hearing the stories, singing songs, tugging on the parachute and best of all the bubbles!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Claire is very honored to share her birthday month with Grandma Rice, but we are VERY happy they don't share the same birthday day. 

 A year ago today began all the baby drama. I went in for my routine 7 month check up and was in total shock when the doctor said he was sending me to the hospital for test and if he didn't like the results I was giving birth immediately. I remember looking at him like he was crazy and telling him I was only 26 weeks and that wasn't an option. Thankfully I was able to keep Claire in 10 more days and get steroid shots to help her tiny lungs develop. It was all very scary!  Here's hoping my mom has a much less stressful birthday this year!!!!  We wish we could be there to celebrate with you :)

Mini Munchkin

Claire is teething (we hope, she could really use a tooth to put some variety in her diet) and I wanted to know the correct Tylenol dose so we headed to the doctor yesterday for a quick weigh-in.  I had always guessed she's be 14 almost 15 pounds at a year old.  I was very wrong.  Claire has only gained a pound in the past 2 months and weighed in at only 13lbs 6oz.  The nurse said it's probably because Claire is so active, because believe me the girl can eat.   She is getting really good at eating "real" food.  Last night she ate chicken, mashed potatoes, apple blueberry baby food, a mum mum and peach ice cream for dessert.  Then less than 2 hours later she drank her whole bottle.  It looks like though we are going to have a 1 year old in the 13 pound range, ha ha.  I think she's going to be in the 3-6 month clothes awhile longer, we certainly get our use out of clothes!
