Fun First

Today was filled with many first for Claire.  This morning Claire has her first dentist appointment.  I was pleasantly surprised that Claire let the dentist look in her mouth and brush her 2 teeth with minimal squirming and no tears. It helped that there was a duck hanging over the chair.  Claire kept pointing and saying "duck, duck." For being such a good girl Claire got to pick out a new book. . . she picked one about DUCKS.

Now our next stop did not contain any first, but sure was fun!

 We met 4 of Claire's best girlfriends for lunch at Chick fil a today.  Today was customer appreciation day so everyone, including the girls got free sandwiches!

 Ryleigh. . . Finley was there was well, but wouldn't look at me for a picture.  

It is not easy to get 4 babies to look at the camera!

Our last stop was to the Stride Rite for a real big girl pair of shoes.  

 We went with a size 2 (3-6 month size).  Although Claire's foot is getting big and she needs a 2.5 in sneakers, ha ha . 

 I don't think Claire could have been any more excited to get shoes.  She let the lady measure her foot and try 3 or 4 pairs on with a big smile on her face.  Once we came home she walked all over and happily pointed at her shoes all afternoon.  When I was little and got a new pair of shoes I would sleep in them because I was so excited, I think Claire takes after me!

Splash pad fun

 Saturday morning Claire took an early nap in anticipation of meeting her boyfriends at the splash pad.  She wanted to be ready to go so she slept in her bathing suit.  

 The splash pad is a cement area that has different areas that shoot out water.  Claire never cried, but was a little hesitant about going into the water.  She thought it was fun to walk up and then quickly turn around and walk back to her daddy.  

 This is Claire with one of her boyfriends, Mccoy.  He's a few months younger than Claire, what you can't tell.

 After some water fun we walked a few steps to the train. 

 After the train ride, we headed over to the swings. . . which still scare Claire :(

 We keep trying in hopes one day she will change her mind.  

 After a quick baby food lunch, Claire was ready for more water fun!

 We had such a fun day, you can expect to see lots of pictures from this park this summer!

Best Wake Up Ever

 Claire woke up from her nap this morning to find a box full of surprises from Nana and Pop Bowlby.  She was very excited and helped me pull each item out of the box and then lean her whole body into the box to look for more.  Her favorite from the box is a cool Elmo cell phone that makes noise.  She knew right away to put it up to her ear and talk.

 She thought the pillow pet would be a nice comfy spot to put her new cell phone for a nap.  

 This is Claire modeling the new outfit she found in the box of presents.  It is a great fit and we already have a pretty hair bow to match. . .

 although as you can see the bow didn't stay in very long!

Not pictured:  Claire also got a new book.  It was so cute to watch her take the book, sit in her chair and "read" the book to herself.  I see it going into our rotation of favorites.

Claire's latest trouble

 At least she tried to wash the windows for her mommy.  

 Getting in trouble makes little girls thirsty.  

Lollipop

Yesterday I let Claire enjoy her first lollipop.  She got it in the goody bag from Stella's party.  

 It's pure sugar, so of course she enjoyed it!

A big girl in a little girl's body

Most kids Claire's age are wearing 18 month clothes, our little Munchkin is still wearing 3-6 months.  For fun we tried on one of her 12 month dresses this week.  Do you think it's too long, ha ha?
